Why does the more antennas the higher the rate?

The core of MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology is to install multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver.

The transmitter uses multiple antennas to send signals at the same time, and the receiver also has multiple antennas to receive signals, so that more information can be transmitted in the same frequency domain and time domain. It can increase the channel capacity of the system exponentially without increasing the frequency spectrum resources and antenna transmission power.

For example, in a small, very quiet room, there are two couples talking. When WANG NYima says "I love YOU", BOTH WANG NYIMA'S GIRLFRIEND AND TENNYIMA'S GIRLFRIEND CAN HEAR clearly. In other words, in this environment, the listener can receive twice as much information at the same time as in SISO (one-on-one conversation).

Now let's change the environment. Let's say the two couples (or maybe it's a man-boy, pictured) are talking in a very loud bar (or far away), and even though Wang is Shouting "I love you" at the top of his voice, his "female" friend (or Dinima's) can't hear you.

So, what if Wang and Dinema both say "I love you"? Although the number of messages is not increased, the listener has a much better chance of hearing clearly because both signals are transmitting the same information. The GIRL FRIEND OF KING NIMA EVEN IF CAN'T HEAR KING NIMA'S "AN RARE YOU", ALSO CAN HEAR DINNIMA'S "AN RARE YOU". Who cares who said it? The key is that the message is delivered and the communication is successful! From the point of view of communication, this is called to improve the reliability of communication.

This is how MIMO works. There are two modes of MIMO: spatial reuse and transmit/receive diversity.

Spatial reuse means that the data to be transmitted can be divided into several data streams, and then transmitted on different antennas, so as to improve the transmission rate of the system. We can think of Wang Nyima, Dnyima, and many other nyima as the antenna of the router, and think of Wang Nyima, Dnyima, and other NYima girlfriends as the antenna of the receiving device (e.g., laptop, cell phone, PAD, etc.). It's easy to understand the relationship between multiple antennas and speed.

So, yes, multiple antennas, multiple safeguards, the speed experience does improve.
